Have you ever dreamed of seeing Broadway hits like Hamilton or Wicked for just $10 or $60?
I did! And in this Broadway Lottery Guide: How I Scored $10 Hamilton Tickets & How You Can Too!, I’ll show you exactly how you can make it happen. If you’re visiting New York City or just want to see more theater on a budget, the Broadway lottery is one of the best strategies to save money.
The Broadway digital lottery is a system where you can enter to win discounted same-day tickets to top Broadway shows. Entry is free, the odds are random, and if you win then you’ll get access to tickets at significantly reduced prices.
For example:
Hamilton tickets are just $10 if you win the lottery.
Other shows, like The Lion King or Wicked, may offer tickets between $30–$60.
Seats are assigned randomly, so you won’t know where you’re sitting until you pick up your tickets. Still, it’s a fantastic way to experience Broadway on a budget.
Hamilton was actually one of my adventure highlights! Check it out here: https://premierandpassport.com/about

Be flexible!!
How I entered: Hamilton App
Notified: June 6
Show Date: June 12
Ticket Price: $10
Seat: Front row
Experience: Unforgettable. I could see every expression. Total dream come true
How I entered: Broadway Direct
Notified: March 10
Show Date: March 10
Ticket Price: $60
Seat: Very top row (worth it!)
Experience: I sang every word. No regrets being in the “boonies” for that price.
Don’t be picky: I know…I know…everyone wants to see a Hamilton or a Lion King but I really encourage you to branch out. I didn’t know what Shucked was about before going in but when I saw it, I loved it! So, you never know, besides this is Broadway so I guarantee you’ll be impressed.
Keep entering: I didn’t win right away, but by staying persistent, I eventually scored front-row seats to Hamilton. It’s a game of patience.
Besides the lottery, you can save on Broadway tickets by:
If you don’t win the lottery, try these alternatives:
Rush Tickets: First-come, first-served day-of-show tickets.Standing Room Only (SRO): Affordable tickets when the show is sold out.
Discount Codes: Use apps like TodayTix or websites like TKTS or BroadwayBox for savings.
Broadway doesn’t have to be expensive. Thanks to the lottery system, I’ve seen world-class shows for less than the price of a movie ticket. If you’re visiting NYC or just want to see more shows on a budget, give it a try, and let me know what you win!
