Only have half a day to explore Disney’s Animal Kingdom? Whether you’re traveling solo or with friends, this time-saving itinerary will help you experience the park’s top rides and attractions without feeling rushed. From Flight of Passage to Festival of the Lion King, here’s how to make the most of every minute.
I know, I know—this one stings, especially with the price hike. But if your goal is to do the best of Animal Kingdom in half a day, this is worth it. Flight of Passage is one of, if not the most popular attractions in the park, and the line can easily hit 2+ hours. Buying the Lightning Lane will save you time, energy, and sanity. You can always budget for it ahead of time!
I hear you: “Why bother if Flight is better?” But listen—Na’vi River Journey is still beautiful and immersive. At rope drop, it’s practically a walk-on because everyone runs to Flight of Passage. It’s a calm, relaxing way to start your morning.
Once you’re done with Na’vi, make your way to Kilimanjaro Safaris. The wait is usually manageable in the morning, and this ride is seriously magical. The animals are more active early in the day, so you’ll likely catch some great views.
Don’t sleep on this trick! The single rider line for Everest is almost always super short, and most people forget it even exists. It’s an easy way to check a thrill ride off your list without burning a lot of time.
By now, you’ve hit the park’s biggest attractions—and still have time to spare. Check your Lightning Lane return time, grab breakfast, or catch a show. I highly recommend Festival of the Lion King—it’s amazing every time.
And if you’re reading this while Dinosaur is still around, please ride it. I love that little chaotic mess of a ride. It’s got something… and I don’t even know what that something is, but it has it. Trust me.

Start early, prioritize top rides (Flight of Passage, Killomnjaro), and use the single rider line when possible.
Absolutely! You have to visit Pandora, even if you haven’t seen the Avatar movies. Flight of Passage is probably one of the best rides in the park!!
Aim to arrive 30–45 minutes before park opening.
